Kickstart is a funding initiative by Headstart Network Foundation, to connect fundable early stage startups with investors and accelerators across India.

Headstart is a non-profit, non-government organisation working towards developing India's startup ecosystem since 2007. With a presence across 22 cities and over 500 events annually, Headstart is usually the first touch point for young startups to see community and institutional support. Headstart's work largely revolves around supporting startups in the -6 months to 2 years bracket. Headstart is run completely by passionate volunteers.

Companies that have demoed/pitched at Headstart initiatives have raised nearly 30,000 Cr INR in Venture Capital cumulatively.

FORMAT OF THE EVENT:

Headstart will shortlist 7-10 startups for every session of Kickstart.
These startups battle it out in a pitch session with 5 minutes kept for their pitch and 5 minutes for QnA, in front of the jury.
Jury comprises of Investors and accelerator managers who grade the startups on team, traction, product, market, barrier to entry and few other parameters.

The winners win some goodies from Headstart's partners and Kickstart Sponsors.
Contact details of up to 10 startup founders are shared with an investor upon request.
Beyond 10 startups, the investor is invited to support the initiative by becoming a sponsor and availing additional benefits.

NOTE:
1. The startup list is not shared with investors in advance.
2. Headstart volunteers don't make a penny out of organising Kickstart or any other initiative.
The sponsorship money earned is utilised in organising more startup focused initiatives and expanding to Tier II cities and towns across India.
